ITACA project workshop

The Agency for Rural Development of Istria and the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries Split, as partners in the Interreg Italy – Croatia project ITACA, held a joint workshop in Pula on Thursday, March 31, for purse seine fishermen who operating with purse seine “Srdelara”.
Istrian fishermen participated live while Dalmatians were online.

Dr. sc. Barbara Zorica gave a presentation on Launching the ITACA Web Application and an insight into the state of small pelagic fish in the Adriatic Sea, emphasizing the need to accept sustainable fishing practices, as well as the benefits of using the Web application created during the ITACA project and grouping fishermen into clusters. In this workshop, we addressed fishermen who are already in the process of training with ITACA project, as well as those who have not undergone any training before, but might be interested in using ICT systems in the future when they join the cluster.

For this occasion, the ITACA project team from IZOR prepared a brochure and other promotional materials for the workshop and distributed them to the participants.
