The ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ project was among the co-organisers of the 4th International Scientific Conference AdriBioPro2026, held from 22 to 25 September 2026.
On the first day of the conference, 23 September, the first ๐๐๐ฒ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง focused on one of the central themes of the CRADLES project: the importance of nursery habitats for juvenile fish.
The keynote lecture, โ๐๐ก๐ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ก๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ฌ: ๐๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐กโ, was delivered by Dr Sanja Matiฤ-Skoko of the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries in Split, Lead Partner of the CRADLES project.
The lecture explored the importance of coastal nursery habitats in sustaining fish populations and healthy marine ecosystems, their connectivity and the increasing pressures they face. It also presented innovative approaches to research and monitoring, ranging from remote sensing and eDNA to biotelemetry and otolith chemistry, including research carried out within the CRADLES project.
๐๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ, was dedicated to the 5th Project Technical Steering Committee (PTSC) meeting, where partners reviewed progress towards the project objectives and discussed the remaining activities to be completed before the project concludes on 30 April 2027.
Due to strong winds and heavy rain, the planned visit to the pilot site in the Tivat Saline and Krtole Bay area on 25 September could not be carried out in full. Nevertheless, during a meeting at the Institute of Marine Biology and a boat trip through the Bay of Kotor, participants had an opportunity to learn more about the pilot areas, the progress of field research and the first sampling results from Tivat Saline and Krtole Bay, as well as from the Bojana River estuary.
