Scientist Vjekoslav Tičina participates in research on pelagic resources in the Canary Islands

Scientific advisor of the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Dr. Vjekoslav Tičina, participated in April 2023 on the research cruise “PECAN 2303” performed by the research vessel “Angeles Alvariño” of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO).

On this occasion, dr. Tičina joined his Spanish colleagues from IEO-Tenerife in study of the pelagic ecosystem of the Canary Islands (Atlantic Ocean), with the aim of assessing its pelagic resources using hydroacoustic methods. Dr. Tičina, at the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, has been leading scientist in similar hydroacoustic research, aimed to assess the pelagic resources in the eastern Adriatic Sea, since 2003.
