Institute of oceanography and fisheries is participating in a new project “CREATE – Climate Responses for the AdriaTic rEgion”.

The project started on 1 June 2022 and will be carried out in the next 13 months. CREATE includes overall 19 existing projects, implemented by more than 100 project partners. This is a community of institutions and organizations leading climate action along the Adriatic coast. Some of the projects included in the CREATE family are: Adriadapt, CHANGE WE CARE, Joint_SECAP, RESPONSe, READINESS and other.

The aim of the project is to improve accessibility to the knowledge created during the cluster projects for different target groups in the project area. This will be accomplished through systematic analysis and overview of different achievements of the projects which include: state of the art on climate change impacts on the Adriatic coastal system, successful response strategies, case studies, methodological approaches, datasets, tools etc. These activities are expected to result with the recommendations for climate action and grounded insights in future challenges of the ecological transition.

It is expected that CREATE will advance the capacity of regional and local authorities, development agencies, non-governmental organizations as well as the general public to identify appropriate measures to increase resilience to climate change in the cooperation area.

The project findings will be disseminated through different initiatives and products starting from wide digital campaigns on the social networks and on the project and partners websites, to webinars and conferences, publications, articles in the newspapers, journals etc.
