About
My research primarily focuses on various aspects of the biology and ecology of marine bivalves, including age and growth, reproduction, feeding ecology, as well as the potential introduction of new bivalve species into aquaculture. Recently, I have expanded my research to include the trophic ecology of fish and fisheries. I am currently the project leader of a project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation – “Potential and Perspectives of European Flat Oyster Restoration in the Adriatic Sea – POPOyster.”
Alongside my scientific work, I dedicate part of my time to popularizing science among children and young people, aiming to increase ocean literacy. In 2022, I received the annual award for science popularization from the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, as well as the annual award for science popularization and promotion from the Ministry of Science and Education. I am a member of the European Marine Board Communication Panel and Panel Steering Group, as well as the EUROGOOS Ocean Literacy Working Group.
