Our scientists Ph.D. Pero Tutman and Ph.D. Dubravnka Bojanić Varezić participated in the conference “Beyond Plastic Croatia” organized by Sunce Association. This is the first conference in Split organized on the topic of marine litter.
The institute is already d has been dealing with this problem for several years and has been monitoring marine litter, including microplastics in our sea, at various locations since 2017.
The Sunce Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development gathered the scientific community from different sectors and organizations, as well as foreign speakers from Tunisia, Malta, Slovenia, France and Belgium. The speakers shared their experiences and made recommendations on waste management, the use of single-use plastic and the reduction of plastic pollution in the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas.
