AquaFarm is a two-day international fair and conference that takes place every year in the Italian city of Pordenone and is reserved for operators of the sustainable aquaculture sector in Euro Mediterranean region.
Aquaculture is currently the fastest growing food production sector in the world and is the main source of 52% of the total amount of fish consumed, surpassing even deep-sea fishing.
As part of the AquaFarm fair, a meeting of the Aquaculture Working Group of the FAO AdriaMed project was held, which promotes scientific cooperation between the Adriatic countries in accordance with the Code of Responsible Fisheries and Sustainable Aquaculture.
Scientists from our Laboratori of aquaculture took part in the meeting, where they presented their research and scientific work and defined thematic guidelines for further activities.
