The Institute organized a workshop on 10 February in Split on the ESCALATOR project – Feasibility study for a research facility for Land-base aquaculture in Croatia from Norwegian experience.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the aquaculture sector and served as a platform for constructive discussions and strategic planning. The aim was to improve cross-border cooperation and explore innovative approaches for the development of sustainable aquaculture.
Under the auspices of the state agency Innovation Norway, representatives from the Norwegian company MoreFish AS, which specializes in consulting services in the field of terrestrial aquaculture, presented their work, which includes technical, biological and operational expertise in the development, management and optimization of aquaculture facilities. They focused on recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and flow-through systems using freshwater or seawater, contributing to the sustainable development of aquaculture.
The workshop was attended by experts from the Department of Ecology, Agronomy and Aquaculture of the University of Zadar, the Faculty of Agriculture, the University Department of Marine Studies in Split, the Institute of Marine Biology Kotor, as well as WWF-Adria, Cromaris d.d., employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and numerous other interested representatives of the sector, who explored investment and business development opportunities.
