This week, our scientists are participating in the consortium meeting of the CLIMAREST project, which is taking place in Brest, France.
In cooperation with the Split-Dalmatia County Development Agency, the Institute will investigate the possibilities of restoring the seabed in areas heavily impacted by human activities along the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea.
Biodiversity loss is recognized as one of the biggest environmental problems of our time. The CLIMAREST project can provide us with the means to protect, restore and rebuild ecosystems, creating space for the restoration of biodiversity that these fragile ecosystems support.
This project will demonstrate innovative solutions in five different marine environments across Europe, and these solutions will eventually be applicable in other places with similar conditions, such as the Adriatic region. Our goal is to create a sustainable environment that supports the development of various benthic species and contributes to the conservation of the ecosystem.
We look forward to further developments in this area!
